  • Highly acclaimed dancer, performer and dance instructor, as well as the most celebrated dancer in the world in his field of Brazilian dance. For more than 20 years he has been teaching and performing all over the world. He was the star of a major international dance show ‘Brazouka’ that traced his incredible life story through Brazilian dance.

  • Romina Hidalgo was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She began dancing Lambada at 8 years of age and her dance grew thanks to the influences of Braz dos Santos and other world-famous teachers. At 16 she began to co-teach Lambada, becoming a full teacher at 18. She became the dance partner of Braz dos Santos. From 2006 onwards, they gave classes and workshops in different cities of the world and participated in countless festivals and congresses in Lambada. They had a glittering appearance at the "Suzanna Lubrano" and "Nelson Freitas" concert and also participated in the filming of a video clip with the renowned singer "Gil Semedo". In 2014 Romina participated in the show "Brazouka", with which she toured the world with Braz dos Santos as a dance couple. Today they continue working together, spreading dance and training students. Romina is a "Rainha de la Lambada" (‘Queen of Lambada’) but she also excels in many other dance styles, as demonstrated in her outstanding contribution to ‘Bum Farto The Musical.’

  • Tybaldt Ulrich as Bum Farto. Based in NYC. Tybladt is most known as a champion in West Coast Swing and Hustle, and has been teaching dance since the mid 90’s. He has performed and taught Zouk, Lambada, Carolina Shag, New York Salsa, Argentine Tango, Ballroom, social Latin, Country Western, Fusion, and Lindy Hop.

  • Jessica Lamdon, also known as “Unicorn,” (the nickname she was crowned by her mentor and partner Ry’el) instructor, performer, actor, MC, and professional hugger, has been dancing since she was 8 years old. She began with competitive international 10-dance ballroom dancing and was fortunate enough to compete and place in international competitions such as Black Pool and represent the US in the Worlds Competition in 2007.

    Jessica flirted with other Latin dances and styles. She then totally emerged into acting for stage and film throughout high school and college, while earning her BA in Psychology.

    Along the way, the Unicorn got bit by the Brazilian Zouk bug in 2012 and never recovered.

    She has had the honor of training with her mentor, partner, and founder of ZenZouk Ry'el Velandia and getting certified by Kim Rottier.

    She has had the pleasure of traveling to teach and perform in congresses throughout the states and Europe. Jessica also had the privilege of partaking in a workshop and performance of hit show Braz Dos Santos's Brazouka.

    Jessica is so proud to be representing ZenZouk and grateful to have Brazilian Zouk Lambada be in her life and the lives of others. She is so humbled and excited to share her discoveries in movement.

  • Brad Meccia is the founder and head instructor at Armada Zouk Dance LLC, Knoxville’s longest running zouk company. Armada Zouk currently features 4 hours of weekly classes which includes 4 levels of social dancing classes and weekly socials as well as instructing weekly classes in Asheville, NC. He has trained throughout the US and Brazil, where his time training with Renata Peçanha helped to develop his Rio Zouk style. In addition to Rio Style, Brad has completed a NeoZouk techniques instructor certification with Marco “Mafie Zouker” Mendonça and the Master Braz ELITE Certificate Course. Outside of dance, Brad received a PhD in biomedical engineering with a focus in biomechanics. This provides unique insights into movement of the body which allow his instruction to really break down the biomechanics of different motions on a joint-by-joint and muscle-by-muscle basis.

  • Devon Near-Hill is a teaching and performing artist who hails from Mendocino County, California. Her movement background includes bellydance, ballet, salsa, and modern dance. While earning her BFA in Acting at USC, Devon fell in love with Lambada and Brazilian Zouk and has since been exploring it's depths. She feels lucky to have trained, performed, and taught with Jerry Lai, Renata Peçanha USA, Gilson Damasco and Braz Dos Santos. Devon won second place in the 2018 LA Zouk Festival Semipro US Brazilian Zouk Open competition as the first female lead to ever compete. Devon and Jerry Lai then toured the curriculums Deconstructing Zouk and Efficient Follow internationally with the goal of creating versatile, embodied, and intentional movers. Devon is thrilled to make her Bum Farto debut alongside some of her dance idols!

  • Alisson Sandi is an exceptional dancer who has performed internationally for a decade. Specializes in Salsa, Bachata and Brazilian Zouk, he will play the role of Titus and will also serve as a company Dance Captain.

  • Sommer Gentry is a lifelong partner dancer with extensive experience performing and teaching lindy hop, the oldest form of swing dancing. She is also an accomplished dancer in hustle, country two-step, collegiate shag, Brazilian zouk, and Argentine tango, and loves to dance salsa, waltz, and a dozen other partner dances beside these. She placed fifth in the American Lindy Hop Championships three years in a row, and first in the UK Swing Dance Championships, and she established the enduring lindy hop community in Baltimore, MD by founding Charm City Swing.

  • Aaron LaVigne (Jesus) is an actor-singer- songwriter originally from Cincinnati & based in NYC. Most recently portraying the iconic role of Jesus in the 50th Anniversary production of Andrew Lloyd Weber’s Jesus Christ Superstar, Aaron is excited to join team Bum Farto!   • Lamar found Latin Dancing overseas six years ago in Asia while being stationed in Okinawa,Japan for the US Marine Corps where he started taking classes, joined a performance team & took as many privates as he could even if he had to walk 40 mins at times with the local salsa/bachata instructor by the name of Erik Rodriguez the owner of Mamboki Dance Company. Lamar was exposed to the Asian Latin Dance Scene as he spent all the free time he could get from the military to attend and perform at festivals/congresses across Asia. Tokyo Salsa Congress, Formosa Dance Festival In Taiwan, Korea Bachata/Salsa Congress, Kizobasa Afro Latin Festival in Thailand & Shanghai Bachata Festival are some that he attended.

    Now he lives in Boulder, Colorado where he found his dance partner Anastasia Maximilian who specializes in Brazilian Zouk. After working together and getting booked for different congresses for BachataSensual. Lamar started to train more in Brazilian Zouk and slowly was falling in love with the new dance style. He took it as a new challenge and has been consistently training since then. He now teaches Brazilian Zouk with his partner Anastasia and has been getting booked for Brazilian Zouk events as well.

  • Riley Gordon, gymnast, dancer, performing artist, and model, was born and raised in Portland, Oregon. At eight years old, she began training on a rhythmic gymnastics team, developing her athleticism, contortionism, body isolation, foundation in ballet, and stage performance skills. For the next ten years, Riley competed across the United States, placing first in state championships and qualifying for junior Olympics.

    Riley started college, however she realized her passions were unfulfilled. So, she jumped on an opportunity to train with Carlos and Arlette - directors of Zafire Salsa Dance Company in the Bronx, NY. Within a few months, she joined the professional salsa team and performed nationally and internationally. She had the opportunity to train with world champions Adrian and Anita, Franco Rocha, Christian Oviedo, Alien Ramirez, Juan Matos, Fernando Sosa, and many others over her four years in NYC.

    After returning to Portland, Riley completed a BA and MS in Criminology and Criminal Justice. She also began modeling under the name “EllaRose” and was featured in the music video “Crop Circles” by Jayme Fortune featuring K-Wain in 2022.

    Riley is filled with excitement as she embarks on this journey with Bum Farto Musical. She can’t wait to share her knowledge, skills, and abilities and to learn and grow from the talents of The Bum Farto cast!

  • Elena Rovito, artist and dance instructor, has 10 years of experience creating and participating in group, duo, and solo choreographies, as well as directing choreography teams Zouk Babes and District Zouk Followers Team. Rovito has placed in numerous well-known dance competitions and was one of the first seven followers in North America to achieve an advanced level ranking in the BZDC Jack & Jill competitions in 2019.

  • Catalina Cardozo is a dancer and teacher of Latin, Brazilian and Urban dances in Buenos Aires, Argentina. Her sensual and elegant moves are displayed in dance and entertainment shows, both at national and international events and congresses, along with her partner, Carlinhos Da Silva.

    Catalina trained in Ballet and Contemporary Jazz with Laura Roatta and took courses in Modern Jazz at Noemí Coelho Dance Studio in BsAs. She studied Ballroom Dances (samba de gafieira, lambada, zouk, bolero) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, with renowned teachers Jaime Arôxa and Jimmy de Oliveira, among others. Currently she continues her training in Argentine Tango.

    Catalina has been participating in national and international ballroom dance congresses since 2011, both teaching and performing, in venues such as Porto Seguro, Barcelona, New York and Buenos Aires.

  • Ronny just finished directing a film of the upcoming show "RIO UPHILL - A New Musical," which takes the audience on a journey throughout modern-day Rio de Janeiro. In 2019 he co-adapted and co-directed the award-winning Brazilian show "Out of Water - A Brazilian Pocket Musical." He’s also worked closely with Stephen Schwartz on bringing “PIPPIN,” and other projects, to Brazil.

    Prior, he appeared in the world regional premiere of Gloria Estefan's "ON YOUR FEET," and starred in "WAVE," his autobiographical show sharing his journey from his humble roots in Brazil to the fast-paced world of competitive dance in New York City, playing to sold-out crowds and rave reviews.

  • This is Lena's second season of Bum Farto in the role of Janice. Some of her credits include Yemanja in Brazouka, a world-tour, Sugarplum Fairy for Daurden Contemporary Dance Theatre's a Contemporary Nutcracker in Los Angeles, as well performing and teaching Lambada across the U.S. and abroad. Her education includes BFA - Ballet Performance and Teaching Emphasis from the University of Utah, as well a Master of Physical Therapy from California State University Northridge.

  • Joey Trombino is truly excited to take part in the 'Bum Farto' experience. Hailing from NYC, he has worked in many facets of entertainment ranging from hip-hop commercial dance, fronting original bands, to acting in feature films. He has had the honor of working with artists such as Beyoncé, Phish, Chromeo, John Leguizamo, Mark Romanek, and more. As an original artist, Joey wrote & recorded vocals for three full length albums with the popular underground funk band Urban Sun and The Great Apes, as well as various musical revue shows worldwide. Most recently he was on the National tour of the Broadway show, ‘A Bronx Tale', and a featured vocalist with Phish for their NYE Madison Square Garden show.
